With Summer Season Over, What Better Time To Explore Philadelphia?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The summer season is officially over, but don't let the upcoming cooler weather get you down.

There's lots to do in Philadelphia this fall, including touring the city.

As these hot summer days shift into brisk autumn afternoons, Jenea Robinson with Visit Philadelphia says that's not a bad thing:

"Fall and the cooler months is actually one of the best times in my opinion to view the city. You don't have to deal with the humidity, which is a plus, and there's still many tours that take place throughout the fall."

There's the Biplanes over Philadelphia tour if you like being in the air, Patriot Harbor Lines for those that prefer the water and segway tours cruising past many city landmarks.

Have an appreciation for history? Robinson says the Independence After Hours Tour and Constitutional Walking Tour of Philadelphia are perfect for that:

"You really get to go deeper with some of these stories, and if you have an awesome tour guide they can bring a lot of these stories to life."

There are around 50 options that Robinson says are great for anyone just visiting Philadelphia, or if you have lived here your whole life:

"You'll get to see some of these neighborhoods or blocks or attractions you may walk by or drive by every single day and not pay attention to, or you may know the basic history of it, but you may not know the deeper stories that exist there."
