Police: Man Breaks Into Barn, Attempts To Have Sex With Miniature Horse

EPHRATA, Pa. (CBS) -- Police in Ephrata say a man admitted to attempting to have sex with a small horse.

On August 16 officers were dispatched to investigate an incident on the 500 block of Indiantown Road in West Cocalico Township.

Authorities say witnesses saw a car stop near a barn, watched the driver go inside for a short time and then leave. They noted the vehicle's license plate and provided the information to police.

Officers traced the plate to the home of 21-year-old Travis Wagner, of Reinholds.

Investigators say Wagner told police he had entered the barn for the purpose of engaging in sexual intercourse with a miniature horse that was inside.

Wagner has been charged with one count of Burglary, a Felony of the second degree and one count of Sexual Intercourse with an Animal, which is a second degree Misdemeanor.

He was arraigned Monday and released on bail.

If convicted, Wagner faces up to 10 years in jail for the Burglary charge and up to two years if found guilty of Sexual Intercourse with an Animal charge.
