Philly Police Shoot Dog That Was Reportedly Attacking People

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police opened fire on a dog that was reportedly attacking people in Hunting Park this morning.

Police say they responded to a report of a person screaming that a dog had attacked them and several others near West Lycoming and North Broad Streets.

Officers shot the dog, but not fatally. There's no word on whether or not people were injured by the animal.

The Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association is on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
