Jurassic World Comes To The Franklin Institute

by Paul Kurtz

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's another feather in the tourism cap for Philadelphia, with Tuesday's announcement that Jurassic World: The Exhibition will make its North American debut at the Franklin Institute this Fall.

"It will be the closest visitors will ever come to living, breathing dinosaurs," said Larry Dubinski, Franklin Institute President and CEO.

He says visitors will be taken on a VIP tour of Isla Nublar while getting an up close view of the real-world science of dinosaur DNA.

"Jurassic World: The Exhibition is an immersive experience featuring life-size animatronic dinosaurs, some towering at over 24 feet high, set in environments inspired by the blockbuster franchise," said Lubinski.

Jurassic World has been drawing record-breaking crowds since its opening in Australia back in March.

Tickets go on sale September 10th for the November 25th Philadelphia opening.
