1 Killed, Several Injured In Germantown Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Authorities say one person is dead and several others were injured after a house fire broke out Sunday evening in Philadelphia's East Germantown neighborhood.

The blaze began just after 6 p.m. on East Clapier Street near Germantown Ave.

Officials say a 61-year-old man was pulled from the second floor. He was pronounced dead of a heart attack at the hospital.

A 63-year-old woman is in critical but stable condition from smoke inhalation. At least three other people have been taken to the hospital. No word yet on their conditions.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
