Del. Police Search For Robbery Suspect Who Got Away While Handcuffed

ODESSA, DE (CBS) -- Police in Delaware are searching for a robbery suspect who got away in handcuffs.

According to officials, 24-year-old Tahreek Leslie was being detained by state troopers this morning in Odessa for a trespass complaint.

A records check revealed Leslie was wanted by Delaware State Police on burglary and theft charges and is currently on probation.

Authorities say Leslie fled from the Troop 9 building and parking lot on Main Street while still in handcuffs. He was last seen running across the eastbound lanes of route 299. A K9 track is now underway to find him.

Police describe Leslie as a black male, standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
