Upside Down Planes, Running The Runway, More At Chesco Festival Of Flight

TOUGHKENAMON, Pa. (CBS) - The skies over southern Chester County will be full of little airplanes going every which way all weekend...sometimes even upside down.

The Festival of Flight cruises into New Garden Flying Field in Toughkenamon Saturday and Sunday.

This little airport will be hosting some big names in aviation.

"We have some world renowned aerobatic routines," says airport manager John Martin.

Like Greg Koonz and his flying farmer routine. And when he lands, he don't need no stinkin' runway. He's got a pickup truck.

Then there's Greg Shelton's FM-2 Wildcat and Dan Marcotte's ultimate Biplane:

"It's a nimble airplane," he says. "We put on a good show."

Plus there will be displays of cool vintage airplanes...including one in particular.

"It's a 1946 air coop, based here at the airport," Martin says, "owned by a very special individual (Mr. REWIND himself!) And it's the aircraft's 70th birthday."

And Sunday you can race in a place where people are never allowed to tread...the runway!
