Folcroft Ofc. Chris Dorman Receives Commendation, Hopes To Get Back To Work Soon

FOLCROFT, Pa. (CBS) -- On Wednesday night, A Delaware County police department celebrated their service of some of their own. The Folcroft police chief presented commendations to several officers for their exceptional service.

Among the officers recognized was Officer Chris Dorman. He survived being shot seven times on the job back in June.

Dorman and fellow officer David DePietro received the department's first Commendation of Valor awards.

"It's not to get the recognition, but I was just doing my job that day and it could have been anybody else in law enforcement that it could have happened to," Dorman said. "I was just the unlucky one who got their first. Thank God I was working with who I was. They saved my life."

Dorman is still recovering from the June shooting and hopes to be back at work before the summer is over.
