$10K Reward Offered In Shootings Of 6yo Kids In Germantown

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 6-year-old is fighting for his life after being caught in the crossfire of a shooting in Germantown late Thursday night.

This is the second child shot in the same area in less than a week, and now police are offering a reward, hoping to entice tips from the public.

Police say 6-year-old Mihaj Brown is in critical condition, after being shot multiple times while sitting in a parked car with his Godfather on West Clarkson Ave near Ashmeade street, close to LaSalle University.

"About 30-40 shots were fired from about three different weapons," says Chief Inspector James Holmes.
One of the guns, he says, was an AK 47:

"We need to get our hands on these weapons that were used."

Investigators say they are searching for a newer model Mercury mountaineer with a light colored bottom and dark colored top, and are still skimming through surveillance video for clues.

"If you know something or can point us in the right direction, we are more than happy to follow up on it," Holmes said.

Another 6-year-old was shot less than a mile away, on Woodstock Street, a few days ago.

Officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in both cases.
