Prosecution To Wrap Up Case Against AG Kathleen Kane

HARRISBURG, PA (CBS) -- The prosecution will likely wrap up its case Friday in the trial of Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane.

Kane is charged with leaking secret grand jury information in an effort to make a political rival look bad. She is also accused of lying under oath to try to cover it up.

The reporter who penned the Daily News story based on what prosecutors say was protected Grand Jury information is among today's witnesses for the prosecution.

A key witness for the commonwealth's case testified yesterday. Joshua Morrow, Kane's political strategist admitted that he had lied under oath in an effort to protect Kathleen Kane, but is now coming clean on not one but two immunity orders.

He says he met with Kane to come up with a cover story that put the blame on her 1st assistant, Adrian King. He says he decided to tell the truth once he realized as he put it, the lie was unraveling.

On cross examination by the defense, Morrow admitted he sent a text saying "I hope she goes away." And was asked by Kane's attorney if this was while he was protecting her.

So far Kane's attorneys have not indicated whether or not she will take the stand in her own defense.
