Tennis Legend Serves Up Something Special For Mayor Kenney

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Tennis legend and humanitarian Billie Jean King dropped by Philadelphia City Hall today to praise Mayor Jim Kenney's commitment to improving parks and rec in the city.

Fresh off of a victory Tuesday night with her 3-0 Philadelphia Freedoms, Billie Jean King made Mayor Kenney an honorary team member and presented him with a jersey.

"It's not big enough," Kenney said.

"It's not big enough?" King asked.

"No it isn't."

"Well, they like to wear them tight now a days," King replied.

"I don't like to wear them tight," Kenney explained with a laugh.

"I'm with you."

King told Kenney she really appreciates the support for efforts to make tennis more accessible for kids in Philly, including one project currently in progress.

"We've been helping Hunting Park for a few years now to get it refurbished. We're all working together to try to make life better in the Philadelphia area."

How about this for a fun fact? Mayor Kenney says he was a varsity tennis player in high school.
