Campers For Bernie Sanders Packing Up, Not Giving Up

ELMER, NJ (CBS) -- Even though they've pack up, Bernie Sander supporters who camped in South Jersey during the DNC say they're not going to give up their movement.

At Parvin State Park dozens of people from the West Coast and Mid-West, who attended the DNC, clustered in caravans for the long trip home.

"We're going to step back and everyone is kind of licking our wounds and trying to figure out what we're going to do," says Eric Terrell, a teacher from South Dakota.

Some traveled to the region hoping that Sanders would somehow find a way to the Democratic nomination by turning delegates at the Convention.

His repeated endorsements for Clinton, despite the release of hacked DNC emails pointing toward party bias, seemed to leave his avid followers bitter and confused where to direct their efforts now.

"I'm very disappointed in the Democratic Party right now. I saw a lot of things that were anti-democratic going on," says Joseph Haythorn from Oregon.

Some say they'll get behind Green Party Candidate Jill Stein.

Others say they may eventually vote for Clinton so long as she keeps promises to champion Sanders' initiatives.

Walter Rhoads from Sacremento, CA needs a little break from politics saying, "I am eager to get home to my own projects that have nothing to do with politics."
