Philly Teen Plays Patriotic Tune For Police At DNC Protests

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- In the midst of two DNC-related protests at City Hall on Tuesday, one Philadelphia teenager took a step back from the crowds to play a patriotic tune.

15-year-old Brandon Combs played "The Star Spangled Banner" on his trumpet for police officers who were on patrol at the rallies -- one in support of Bernie Sanders, the other for Black Lives Matter.

Youth alive!

The Department went live with Comb's performance on Facebook which has garnered more than 58,000 views in less than 24 hours since the video was posted.

And the moment itself drew a small audience who gave the young musician a round of applause after he finished the song.

"I met this young man today during my tour," Officer Omar Sanabria commented on the post. "He is awesome and very smart. He told me he wants to join the Philly PD family after college. Can't wait to see you here Brandon!"
