Wounds Still Fresh For Disappointed Bernie Sanders Supporters

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- At FDR Park, it was a day of reflection on Wednesday for disappointed Bernie Sanders supporters. The wounds are still fresh and raw.

"I've been an independent my whole life and I came into the Democratic Party trying to do some good and they just frickin'...election fraud, like crazy, right?"

With their candidate out of the race, Sanders supporters tried to get their bearings and figure out where they go from here. Many are certain they no longer want to be affiliated with the Democratic Party.

"It's really exciting to be breaking away from the two-party system that has had us under its thumb."

"Demexit" is the new rally cry as Sanders supporters mull over such options as supporting Green Party candidate Jill Stein or forming their own party. Simply going away apparently is not an option.

"We're definitely leaving the Democratic Party. So we have to find an alternative. It could be a third-party or maybe Jill Stein"

"I definitely won't vote for Hillary Clinton. We can't afford Clinton as president. To be honest, I would feel more comfortable with Donald Trump as president."

"The main thing that's happened under this is the Progressive base has galvanized. So if I could help support a third-party that would be awesome. Because this is s puppet show!"

"We're a lot stronger together. And we're making so many connections that wherever people decide to go after this it's going to be epic. We're going to see the death of the two-party system."

Sanders may be done, but his movement is still very much alive. As one protester put it, "It's not about a man. It's about an idea."
