Animal Shelter Hosts DNC Themed 'Yappy Hour'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A local animal rescue shelter is using the Democratic National Convention to find dogs and cats their forever homes.
Morris Animal Refuge in Washington Square is inviting people and their pups to a "Yappy Hour" Wednesday night to meet adoptable pets and to enjoy complimentary cocktails, craft beer and some lite bites.
A $20 donation will get you in the door. Money raised from the event will go towards feeding the animals at the shelter.
The business is also offering half-price adoptions for cats as part of #DNCdeals discounts that dozens of local businesses are taking part in.
Tonight's event, held from 5 to 8 p.m. has even created hashtags #ImWithPurr and #FeelThePurrn to help spread the word.
