Police: Eagles Linebacker Arrested, Charged After Allegedly Assaulting Hotel Employee

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to Miami officials, Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham turned himself in to authorities on Monday in connection to an alleged assault.

Police there say Bradham and others were at the Hilton Bentley South Beach where Bradham allegedly assaulted an employee. The incident took place on Thursday, July 21 according to police.

Officials say the hotel employee and Bradham were involved in a verbal altercation. They add that Bradham struck the employee in the nose, knocking him to the ground. Police say members of the group joining Bradham were also a part of the fight.

Authorities say the group and Bradham fled. They say the employee suffered a broken nose and contusions to the face and. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Eagles Training Camp Transportation Guidelines Due To DNC

Bradham, 26, is facing charged in connection to the incident. The Eagles released the following statement on the incident:

"We are aware of the recent incident involving Nigel Bradham in Miami. We have been in contact with Nigel and the proper authorities. Due to the ongoing legal process, the Eagles will have no further comment at this time."

They opened training camp on Monday.

The linebacker signed with the Eagles during this off-season. Bradham has experience in Jim Schwartz's defense after playing for him in Buffalo.

Update: Wednesday

According to reports, the hotel employee struck Bradham's girlfriend first, spurring the attack.
