Journalists From Around The Country Get First Taste Of Philadelphia
By Dan Wing
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After spending a few days in Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention, what are visiting journalists first impressions of our city?
As Down Home Diner chefs cooked up an incredible breakfast spread, media from around the country gathered after night one of the DNC.
Ore Spragin is an editor from Alabama, and he's been impressed in his two days in town.
"We've enjoyed our stay here, the people are very friendly. We haven't had any trouble getting around and the city has planned well in terms of the convention coming here."
Spragin and his wife Phyllis took their first bites of scrapple.
"The consistency is unique. It's unique."
Christie Zizo is a reporter from Orlando who made her first stop Independence Mall, but she says Olde City was equally impressive.
"The buildings are beautiful. The buildings are amazing."
All three said they were looking forward to doing more sightseeing and historic tours as the week continued.
