Bernie Sanders Supporters March Ben Franklin Bridge In Protest
CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) -- About 150 pro-Bernie Sanders protesters gathered at Camden City Hall on Monday to march to Philadelphia's City Hall.
It was about a 3 mile hike that included the long uphill climb of the Ben Franklin Bridge during mid-90-degree heat.
"It's a small sacrifice to sweat a little for a $15 an hour minimum wage or health care for all," said Brian Powers after finishing the bridge walk.
Among the main organizers were Black Men for Bernie who advocate a mass de-registration of Democrats once Hillary Clinton is officially made the party's presidential nominee.
"They have an opportunity to bring forth a candidate who speaks for the people and that's Bernie Sanders and if they do not do that a massive de-registration will take place," says protest organizer Gary Frazier.
Marchers were encouraged to drink lots of water and take frequent breaks during the demonstration.
