What's Cooking on 1060: Summer Food At Jersey Shore

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  With summer in full swing, KYW's Hadas Kuznits takes "What's Cooking on 1060" down the shore, and explores what's new in food this summer in Atlantic City:

Kevin Ortzman, president of Caesars and Bally's Atlantic City says there's nothing like BBQ done right by a celebrity chef.

"If you like ribs, these ribs will fall off the bone. Fantastic at Guy Fierei's BBQ joint and then of course a pulled pork sandwich, you've got to get that."

Ortzman points out Guy Fierei's BBQ Joint and the new Boardwalk Saloon at Bally's open up on the boardwalk where 25 million visitors walk by throughout the summer.

"And as you just walk by and smell the amazing BBQ, you immediately feel compelled to say, 'wow, where is that?'"

Over at the Borgata, Senior Vice President of Operations Joe Lupo says they've added a few food and drink amenities.

"We opened the new pool and beer garden the first weekend in July and the pool has been packed, the beer garden has been packed."

Kuznits: "How often does a casino/hotel need to renovate in order to keep current?"

"More than probably most do."

And they're already thinking ahead to April when they'll be adding yet another restaurant.

"Michael Simon, Iron Chef, probably one of the most famous chefs in America on TV with The Chew. Finding another Iron Chef was a great, great coup, I think, of ours."
