Experts, Residents React To Donald Trump's Chances Following RNC
BELLMAWR, N.J. (CBS) -- Closing the Republican National Convention, Donald Trump delivered the speech that he hopes will propel him to the White House, but is he getting the response he wanted?
While many people remain all in, or all out, with Trump, we met some people that are becoming new supporters. "I thought he was good to tell you the truth and I think he's crazy," said Michell Noto of Bellmawr.
"I'm a union member, Local 19," said Pat Weisberger. "We usually go democratic, but who knows. This may be the first time in 30 something years, I switch over."
That sort of response doesn't surprise conservative blogger Matt Rooney who thinks the RNC helped Trump. "I think for the most part, it got the job done," Rooney said. "They needed to do two things. They needed to disqualify Hillary Clinton and then they needed to qualify Donald Trump."
However, Democrats say that Trump's speech was all doom and gloom with no strong evidence, or solutions.
"I think he paints a different world because he's trying to maximize off of fear to catapult himself into office," said NJ Assembly Majority Leader (D) Lou Greenwald.
While it remains to be seen just how well Trump used the RNC to unify his party, and bring in undecided voters, Clinton faces a similar challenge. She's had a lot of negative attention and also has to convince the Bernie Sanders followers that she represents their interests as well.
The ball is now in her court, in Philadelphia, at the DNC.
