Will Pattern Of Bad News Take Luster Off Summer Olympics?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Comcast chairman Brian Roberts says despite concerns over the Zika virus and reports of incomplete Olympic venues in Rio, he is confident the Summer Games will be a success.
"We really do believe Rio will be ready."
Comcast chair Brian Roberts told a news conference today he's seen the pre-Olympic litany of criticism before.
"There tends to be a pattern that there's a lot of buildup before the Olympics with some negativity about each event. We saw it in Sochi. We saw it in London."
But he says once the games begin next month, he believes the attention will shift to the actual competition.
"There will certainly be discussion of those things that have led up to it. But we'll get about the business of the Olympics. I can't control what we can't control. But we couldn't be, honestly, more excited."
NBC/Universal paid a reported $1.2 billion to broadcast the 2016 Summer Games.
Roberts made his comments at an event to promote Comcast's X1 platform, which integrates network and live-streamed events.
