Kathryn Knott Released From Jail After Doing Time For Attack On Gay Couple

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to officials, Kathryn Knott has been released on parole.

The 25-year-old Bucks County woman was sentenced five to 10 months of jail time for simple assault and other misdemeanors involving an attack on a gay couple in Center City back in 2014.

Knott was charged along with Phillip Williams and Kevin Harrigan but was the only one of the three who served jail time. Her co-defendants were both sentenced to probation as a result of a plea arrangement where they admitted their roles in the crime.

Earlier this year, Common Pleas Judge Roxanne Covington refused to cut Knott's jail time. Covington believed her sentence was not excessive considering the injuries to both the victims and the city's image.

She also found "a complete disconnect" between Knott's statements and the severity of the 2014 crime.
