Demonstrator Spotted In New Jersey, Supporting Law Enforcement After Dallas Shooting

BROWNS MILLS, N.J. (CBS) -- Five police officers were shot and killed on Thursday night in Dallas during protests held in response to two black men, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, who died after being shot by police officers.

The incidents fell in line with a series of them that have sparked a rejuvenation of movements throughout the United States calling for closer examination of police brutality involving African-Americans.

What occurred in Dallas falls in line with events that have sparked a rise in attention for the safety of police officers throughout the country.

CBS 3 viewer LeighAnne Ferrell, of Burlington County, shared with us the following video, the day after the shootings in Dallas.

She noted that the man appeared to be standing off to the side of a roadway in Browns Mills. She said he was standing there for at least 45 minutes from the time she noticed him and appeared to be waving a United States flag with a blue stripe in the middle.

The blue stripe has become a symbol of fallen law enforcement officers.
