Protests Take Place In Philadelphia After Sterling And Castile Deaths

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Protesters took to the streets on Friday to protest two recent incidents of two black men dying after being shot by law enforcement in Louisiana and Minnesota.

The shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile have sparked outrage across the country and on social media. They are the latest incidents in a series of them that have fueled the narrative that there is a rift between the black community and police throughout the United States.

Protests began in Philadelphia around 6:30 p.m. as demonstrators started marching, gathering at 12th and Arch near the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

On Wednesday, demonstrators marched, blocking an entrance and exit from I-676. Dozens were arrested.
