Delayed Trains Force SEPTA Riders To Adjust And Be Patient

CENTER CITY (CBS) -- This evening rush hour riders had to deal with SEPTA regional rail problems following the agency's decision to pull a third of its fleet.

The trains are running on a weekend schedule, so that means many are coming just once an hour and delays are plaguing quite a few of the lines.

Jerry said his train line to Fox chase was running late and was too packed for him to board.

"We just gotta put up with the inconvenience obviously, you know worrying about getting to work on time as we're doing now waiting to get home."

Terry Thomas said she's found some things to occupy her time while waiting on her delayed train to the Roslyn station.

"Shopping and eating," she said.

Thomas said she still prefers a longer wait time for the train over her alternative.

"It's better than driving downtown, it still beats driving."

Other rush hour riders say they are making sure their phones are fully charged so they can text, make and play games during that extended waiting period.
