Dario Saric Indicates He'll Join Sixers: Gave Them My Word

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Dario Saric has indicated he will join the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2016-17.

Speaking to a Croatian website on Wednesday, the 6'10" forward said,

"I have one more year with Efes [Turkish basketball team Anadolu Efes] and [head coach Velimir] Perasovic wants me to stay, but I gave them [the Sixers] my word. My word means more than a paper."

Saric, 22, was the 12th overall of the 2014 NBA Draft and spent the last two seasons playing for the Anadolu Efes in the Turkish Basketball Super League. Reports have indicated all offseason long that Saric is finally ready to join the Sixers.

"I'm waiting for this [Olympic qualifying] tournament to end so that I can sit down and work out a deal, then head over to the USA to sign," Saric said, according to the translation of his interview.

Saric has until July 17th to officially make his decision.
