Sixers Select Guard Timothe Luwawa Out Of France At 24, Korkmaz At 26

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- With the 24th overall pick, the 76ers selected G-F Timothe Luwawa-Cabarrot out of France. Two picks later, the team selected G Furkan Korkmaz out of Turkey.

Sixers Select Ben Simmons 1st Overall

The Sixers went with an international flare in the first round taking these two international players after selecting Ben Simmons from Australia with the first overall pick.

Luwawa-Cabarrot is regarded as a potential 3 and D player at the NBA level. At 21, Luwawa has wrapped up playing three seasons in France and a season in the Adriatic League.

In 2015-16, he averaged 14.6 points per game in just over 31 minutes of action. He shot 37% from 3-point range.

His athleticism allows him to play both shooting guard and small forward and he's versatile enough to defend both of those positions.

At No. 26, Korkmaz, 18, is a potential draft and stash option with an intriguing skill set. Korkmaz played for Anadolou Efes, the same Turkish League team that features Dario Saric.

His shooting range could fill a need for the Sixers when he comes over, but at his age, he could use some extra seasoning overseas. With a crowded roster of young players, Korkmaz's greatest value to the Sixers could come in a few years when he is fully ready to leap to the NBA.

And, he has personality.
