A Wonderful Weekend At Firefly Music Festival 2016

By Michael Cerio

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It was another successful weekend deep in The Woodlands of Dover, DE for Firefly Music Festival.

While there was no splashy sets like last year's legendary Paul McCartney headlining spot, or the reunited Outkast from two years ago – but this year's four day excursion into the fields and trees were still packed with a mammoth amount of music for the over 90,000 in attendance.

There were reunions of course, like that of Blink 182 and their new look lineup taking the stage of Sunday – but the most important among them seemed to be the reunions of friends who have made this a rite of summer for the past five years.

Among the highlights were Florence And The Machine on the main stage with a touching LGBT tribute, a confetti flurry of good vibes from Tame Impala, and a cardio-tastic performance from Ellie Goulding.

Along the way we got to catch up with some of our favorite band from this year's festival. Enjoy these conversations from Firefly Music Festival 2016.

Guster

After 25 years of music, Guster was an elder statesman at Firefly this year. However, lead singer Ryan Miller still managed to teach us a thing or two about how to properly use an emoji.

Of Monsters And Men

It's been a year since Of Monsters And Men released their sophomore effort Beneath The Skin. In the time since they've toured the world and landed a spot on Game Of Thrones. We caught up with them about Icelandic life and their latest plans.

The Wombats

The Wombats played a midday set on Friday at Firefly, baked to perfection in the sun of The Woodlands. We talked with Dan from the band about festivals in the U.S. vs. the UK and how sign language found its way into their show.

The next Firefly Music Festival is only 360 days away, as they return to The Woodlands for year six June 15th through 18th. Start planning now.
