Officer Involved Car Accident In Olney

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia police officer is recovering from injuries suffered in a car crash Sunday evening in Olney.

Authorities say an SUV struck the officer's marked unit, forcing the vehicle to crash into a telephone poll.

This happened just after 7 p.m. at Front Street and Champlost Avenue.

The 35th district officer's condition is not known at this time.

Authorities say people in the striking vehicle were also injured.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
