Former Eagles Safety Walter Thurmond Poses As Local Softball Stud, Dick Mahoney

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's a real life urban legend.

In a softball league in Philadelphia, there was a player by the name of Dick Mahoney. His teammates, knew very little about him.

All they knew about the mystery slugger was that he crushed home runs and that he wouldn't park his Porsche near the field.

What did he do for a living? The answer...a little bit of this, a little bit of that.

In a picture, you see the softball team, Mahoney included, enjoying some beverages after a game.

It was unknown at the time, but since then, the players on the team have come to realize that their secret weapon is not who they thought he was.

Dick Mahoney was actually former Eagles safety, Walter Thurmond.

How did no one on the team recognize him? He disguised himself with a jheri curl wig and a Los Angeles Dodgers hat.
