Giant Recalls Rold Gold Pretzels And Other Snacks

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Giant Food Stores and Martin's Food Markets have recalled several varieties of Rold Gold pretzels and other snacks made by Frito-Lay that may contain peanut residue not listed on the ingredient list.

The pretzel recall includes several varieties of pretzels including Thins Original, Sticks Original, Tiny Twists Original and Braided Honey Wheat.

The stores voluntarily recalled the products following a Frito-Lay recall of some snack and pretzel products because they pose a risk to consumers with severe peanut allergy; otherwise they're safe for consumption.

The FDA advises consumers with severe peanut allergies against eating the recalled products but says the amount of peanut exposure in the products is not expected to cause adverse health effects for those with lesser allergic reactions.

The below recalled pretzels have a "guaranteed freshness" date ranging from June 28 through August 23:

Rold Gold Pretzel Thins Original, 16 oz., UPC 2840004767

Rold Gold Pretzel Thins Original, 4 oz., UPC 2840043617

Rold Gold Pretzel Tiny Twists Original, 16 oz., UPC 2840004768

Rold Gold Pretzel Braided Honey Wheat, 10 oz., UPC 2840002333

The below recalled snacks have a "use by" date of June 14 through August 9:

Baked & Popped Mix Variety Pack 20 ct., 16.875 oz., UPC 2840026499

Fun Times Mix 32 ct., 30.375 oz., UPC 2840057605

SunChips & Rold Gold Mix 20 ct., 20 oz., UPC 2840026498

Customers who have purchased any of these products should discard any unused portions and bring their receipts to their nearest Giant or Martin's store for a full refund.
