Center City "Sips" In Full Swing
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Discounted drinks and appetizers are being offered across Center City on Wednesday evening. It's the second week of the Center City District's summer "Sips" promotion.
Michelle Shannon with the Center City District says the "Sips" concept was based on Restaurant Week:
"Center City District Sips is a fixed-price happy hour promotion," she says, "So, all of the participants offer $5 cocktails, $4 wines, $3 beers and half-priced appetizers from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings."
Shannon says now in its second week, the Sips promotion is visibly changing the street scene in Center City by luring folks out in the middle of the week.
"Sips and Restaurant Week are the two most visited pages on our website," Shannon says.
And due to the popularity of Sips, she says the Wednesday night promotion that usually lasts through August has been extended this year until September.
