17-Year-Old Shot, Drives Himself To Hospital
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 17-year-old man was shot overnight during an attempted robbery and then drove himself to the hospital.
According to police, the victim was one of four people inside of a car on the 5600 block of Lawrence Street in Olney. Two men approached the vehicle and one of them tapped on the window with a gun.
"The shooter chased the car and fired a total of three shots. All three shots did strike the driver's side of the vehicle," said Philadelphia Chief Inspector, Scott Small. "One bullet did go through the driver door window and struck the 17-year-old victim in his left shoulder."
The victim then drove himself to St. Christopher's where he is in stable condition.
