Two Dogs Set On Fire In Chester

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities in Chester, Delaware County are searching for the person or people who heartlessly murdered two dogs.

The dogs were found around 8 p.m. Saturday burned to death inside a plastic container along an alley near West 6th Street.

Authorities say it appears the dogs were deliberately set on fire.

"There are some things that you just can't unsee and this one is horrific," said Russ Harper, a humane police officer with Justice Rescue. "It'll be something that will be burned into my head forever. It's terrible."

Harper was sent to the scene to collect evidence. He says the level of cruelty displayed in this crime is sickening, and police want to track down those responsible. There is a $1,000 reward being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

"We know that somebody has to have some information about it," Harper said.
