Jordan Matthews Wants To Thank Kanye West

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Jordan Matthews is a "huge" Kanye West fan.

Matthews, who is heading into his third year as an Eagles' receiver, joined Derrick Gunn and Reuben Frank on CSNPhilly's Quick Slants to talk about a fun slew of topics, including his love for Kanye.

Matthews was asked what he would say to Kanye if he ever met him.

"Oh man," Matthews said. "You know, what's crazy is I wouldn't ask him for a picture of anything weird like that because I know people always do that, so I would probably say just, 'Thanks for the music.'

"I think a lot of times people forget about the hard work that some of their heroes put in, and so they wanna go in and the first thing they do is ask for something. But sometimes people just wanna hear like, thanks for the product you put out there. So I'd probably say thanks and then ask for a pair of Yeezy's, but that'd be second."

Favorite track?

"I really like 'Everything I Am'," Matthews said. "Just because growing up Kanye was that one hip-hop artist that I could kind of get away with listening to 'cause he was wearing the polos and backpacks so my mom was like, 'Oh he don't look too bad, he don't look too dangerous.' So I could listen to him.

"So in that song, he just describes everything that he is not -- like the other hip-hop artists in the industry -- that's what makes him who he is and I kind of was able to relate to that, because growing up sometimes I was the kid that people thought, 'Oh you're not cool or whatever, your mom dresses you -- all this stuff.' At the same time, it was like even thought I'm not like you guys all those things that I'm not, made me who I am and I think I'm alright. So I'll take it."
