Star Philly YouTube Couple Ends Videos And Relationship In Latest Post

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Pressure and stress at work can take a major toll on someone's mind. Those same things can also have a very adverse impact on two people's relationship.

For a popular YouTube couple, based right here in Philadelphia, pressure and stress impacted their videos and their relationship and for the time being, both of those things are coming to an end.

Jesse Wellens and Jeana Smith, the individuals behind the popular YouTube channel, BFvsGF, recently posted a video that is nothing like what they normally post. The couple announced in the video that they are going to take a break from posting to YouTube because of the impact that it has had on their relationship; a connection that for the time being is over as Wellens is moving to New York City and Smith will remain in Philadelphia.

The video currently has over 5 million views and the channel has over 8 million subscribers. The pair also run the channel, Prank vs Prank which boasts over 9 million subscribers.

"I don't even know how to start this," Wellens said at the top of the video. "This is probably going to be the hardest video we've ever had to make on YouTube."

The couple explained that for some time, they have been having issues in their relationship and that a lot of things happen outside of their videos. Wellens cited having to pretend things are going well, for the sake of videos, as an unhealthy part of a connection between two people.

The couple warned against "daily vlogging," for other couples. "It always burdens the relationship," Wellens said of the practice. "I can almost assure you, we're not going to be daily vlogging anymore. That's for sure. I'm never daily vlogging again."

"I feel stupid, I really honestly, I feel stupid," Smith said. "Don't make daily videos. I've said this to couple's before that I've met, that have asked for advice...It's not healthy. It's not good for your relationship."

At this point, it is unclear what the future will hold for the couple and for their YouTube videos.
