Chad Johnson: 'I Still Like Sam Bradford As A Quarterback'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There aren't many sports personalities more entertaining than Chad Johnson, aka Chad Ochocino.

Earlier this month, Johnson's friend and fellow former NFL great-diva wide receiver Terrell Owens called Sam Bradford a "coward."

So of course, while joining Josh Innes on SportsRadio 94WIP, Johnson was asked about Bradford.

"He's cool," Johnson said of Bradford on Monday's 94WIP Josh Innes Show. "I didn't like his mentality when it came to wanting to be traded, especially in this sport that competitive nature is going to kick in. You have to have a different mindset regardless all the time. And that's -- just to hear something like that, 'Oh, I don't want to compete for this job.' I don't know, it was just weird to me, but I still like Sam Bradford as a quarterback."

Johnson and T.O. have combined for 12 Pro Bowl appearances and over 25,000 receiving yards.

"I mean we talk almost every day, every week, all the time," Johnson said. "T.O. and I have been friends for years, man. I think when I first came in the league he was one of the guys that I reached out to, that I looked up to."

Owens joined Donovan McNabb and a dominant supporting cast in Philadelphia back in 2004, playing a major role in getting the Eagles over the hump and to their only Super Bowl under Andy Reid. Johnson says he could have done the same thing in Philly.

"I would hope so," Johnson said when asked if he would have won a Super Bowl with McNabb and those Eagles' teams. "The supporting cast in Philadelphia in the time was different than it was in Cincinnati. I think Philly was more Super Bowl ready, more prepared to get that point and it could have happened. It definitely could have happened."

On June 10th, 2013 Johnson was sentenced to 30 days in jail. Johnson violated probation less than a year after he was arrested on a charge of domestic battery.

"I traveled in population," Johnson said of his time in prison. "I refused to go in isolation by myself, I went in population. It's cool. I heard a lot of stories. Some of the guys helped me realized how blessed I was and how fortunate I was to be in the situation I'm in and that was it. It was cool. Everyone was really cool.

"The lessons you learn and the stories you hear and understanding how blessed you are, trust me it was a cool situation to hear some of the stuff and understand the blessings I had right in front me."

Johnson was released from prison after just seven days.

"There was nothing but love in general," Johnson said. "Really nothing I had to do, but be myself. That's it."

Johnson is now hosting a podcast with Jamie Dukes called the Ocho & Dukes Podcast. You can follow them on Twitter here.
