Jahlil Okafor Named To NBA All-Rookie First Team

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor was named to the 2015-16 NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Okafor, 20, was voted onto the team by a panel of 130 sportswriters and broadcasters. Five players make the team, regardless of position.

Okafor averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one block per game in 53 games this season.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Kristaps Porzingis, Devin Booker and Nikola Jokic were the other four players named to the All-Rookie first team. Justise Winslow, D'Angelo Russell, Emmanuel Mudiay, Myles Turner and Willie Cauley-Stein were named to the All-Rookie NBA second team.

Okafor is the 12th player in franchise history to earn All-Rookie First Team honors. Nerlens Noel was named to the first team last season.
