60 Minutes' Lesley Stahl Discusses Her New Book In Visit To Philadelphia

By Jessica Dean

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Lesley Stahl is one of the best known journalists at "60 Minutes." For 25 seasons, Stahl has taken us around the world for stories that inspire and intrigue.

On Tuesday night, she was in Philadelphia to talk about her new book.

The event took place at the Free Library of Philadelphia branch on Vine Street. Stahl took part in a discussion about "Becoming Grandma," her newest project.

Stahl spoke with Eyewitness News about the joy of becoming a grandparent. "It's so pure," Stahl said. "It's just an unfettered, unconditional loving and I wanted to find out what it was, so I went to a biochemist and I studied the circuitry of the brain when you hold your grandchild and the hormones."

"Becoming Grandma," takes a look at the science behind a grandparent's love and also explores the world of modern grandmas and grandpas.

The book is currently on the New York Times Bestseller List.
