Soul Ready For Showdown With Rattlers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Soul are getting ready for a critical stretch of their schedule.

Over the next two weeks the Soul will match-up with two of the AFL's elite teams in 5-1 Arizona and 6-0 Orlando.

Up first, will be the battle with the Rattlers on Saturday at the Center.

Of course, Philadelphia is also one of the AFL's elites with a 5-1 record this season. Their fifth win came on Monday night when they defeated winless Tampa Bay, 47-17. The Soul actually fell behind 10-0 in this game before overwhelming the Storm.

"We definitely came out a little sluggish," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel tells KYW Newsradio.

The Soul held Tampa to seven first downs and just 124 yards of offense in the win.

Dolezel knows these next couple of games will be critical.

"That's definitely two tests that we'll see where we're at on the measuring stick for sure," Dolezel says. "Orlando played Arizona this past week and beat them pretty handily, so we know we're going to have our hands full next week, but we know it's going to be even tougher this week since it's a short week."

Arizona is a consistent power in the AFL. They won three straight ArenaBowls from 2012-2014 and they went 14-4 last season.

"They're always a well-coached team," Dolezel says. "They have some of the best talent at every position."

Philadelphia and Arizona will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
