Host Committee Bringing PoliticalFest Back To Philadelphia For Convention Week

By Paul Kurtz

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- While Democratic convention delegates go about the serious business of selecting a presidential candidate this summer, the Philadelphia Host Committee will be offering political fun and games that everyone can enjoy.

An Air Force One fuselage, political trivia games, and a virtual whistle-stop campaign tour. Those are just a few of the interactive events you can find at PoliticalFest.

The National Constitution Center and its exhibition "Headed to the White House" will serve as the hub for the six day extravaganza. But Host Committee Chair Ed Rendell says there will also be six other sites to visit.

Even the GOP-centric Union League is getting into the act with a look at the 11 political conventions held in Philadelphia dating back to 1848. And yes, the League has agreed to place a donkey outside the stately building on Broad Street.

"There may be some past Presidents of the Union League and maybe some past Presidents of the US rolling over in their grave, but the League will take a donkey.
