Brett Brown To Represent 76ers At Draft Lottery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Brett Brown has been through it all.

Three exasperating seasons as Philadelphia 76ers' head coach resulting in a 47-199 record, a front-office upheaval, and an offseason of rumored job security issues. But on Tuesday, May 17th, Brown will represent the Sixers at the NBA Draft Lottery where the organization searches for some hope.

"I'm honored and extremely enthusiastic about the opportunity," Brown said Monday via CSNPhilly.com. "More for what it represents to the city and the chance for us to move our program, I think, in an aggressive way forward."

The 76ers have a legitimate chance to acquire four first-round picks in this year's draft.

They have the best chances -- slightly better than 25-percent -- to land the first-overall selection and they could not receive lower than the fourth-overall pick. Plus, they have about a 44-percent chance of landing the Lakers' top-three protected pick and can swap picks with the Sacramento Kings, if need be.

The Sixers also own the first-round picks of the Miami Heat (24th overall) and Oklahoma City Thunder (26th overall).

Best case first-round pick scenario for the Sixers: 1, 4, 24, and 26.

Worst case first-round pick scenario for the Sixers: 4, 24, and 26.
