Food Truck Review: No. 47

NOMAD PIZZA

It's a brilliant operation going on at the Nomad Pizza truck, which stems from one of this city's stop pizza shops. The truck has a wood-fired brick oven built right into it. You can see the flames shooting up as the cook shoves the pizza paddle in the pull out a crispy, bubbling pie.

We found the truck at an April food truck festival on Locust Street in Center City, and the line snaked all the way down the block. So, with quick production a key, that cook may not have given our pie quick as long over the flames as it needed. We prefer the crust a little more well done. But, hey, we understand he had a crowd on his hands.

The Margherita, $12, had a great cheesiness and flavorful tomato sauce. It could have used a little more basil – which only got onto two of the four slices. The Pepperoni, $14, was top-notch.

All in all, a good find. You can follow its whereabouts on Twitter at @NomadPizza.

Score – 83/100
