Phillies Turn To Nola As Series In St. Louis Continues

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will look to get back on track tonight as they play the second of four games in St. Louis against the Cardinals.

The Phils saw their six-game winning streak snapped last night as the Cardinals won 10-3. St. Louis hit five home runs as they rallied from an early 3-0 deficit. The Phillies fell to 15-11 for the season with the loss.

Tonight, the Phillies give the ball to RHP Aaron Nola. He will be making his sixth start of the season. In the first five, Nola has gone 1-2 with a 3.55 ERA. Last time out he was brilliant in Washington, allowing just two hits with seven strikeouts in seven shutout innings of work. But he had to settle for a no-decision in a game the Phils eventually won, 3-0. This will be his first career appearance against St. Louis.

The Cardinals will counter with RHP Michael Wacha. he is 2-1 this season with a 3.07 ERA. He lost his last start to Arizona, 3-0, despite pitching well. He allowed all three runs on five hits in seven innings with nine strikeouts.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Matt Breen of the Philadelphia Inquirer about the Phils, tonight's match-up and expectations going forward.
