Pat Toomey: McGinty Is Corrupt, Too Close To Clinton

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey addressed Donald Trump winning Pennsylvania's presidential primary and looked ahead to the challenge he will face in the fall from Katie McGinty, the winner of the commonwealth's Democratic senate primary.

Toomey, during an interview with Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT thinks his opponent's ties to Hillary Clinton will do more damage than Donald Trump can do to him.

"Katie McGinty may try to, somehow, tie me to Donald Trump. That's fine. She can do whatever she needs to do, but the fact is, she is in lock step with Hillary Clinton."

He leveled charges against McGinty of improperly profiting from her political connections.

"Katie McGinty is one of them. She is the ultimate politco, operator. She's worked for Al Gore. She worked in the Rendell administration, back and forth between government and very lucrative corporate positions where she goes on the board of companies that she was funneling money to. There's going to be a lot questions about the ethics that she demonstrated in this corporate revolving door, funneling money to a company that was paying her husband. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania weighed in very aggressively against it."

Toomey revealed he voted for Ted Cruz in the primary, despite the fact that Trump carried all of Pennsylvania easily.

"You know how this presidential race has been unfolding. I supported Marco Rubio. He was my first choice. I still think he's have been a great President, a great candidate. As of yesterday, we were down to three guys standing and I voted for Ted Cruz."
