Fans React To Flyers Playoff Loss

by Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There will be no game seven for the Flyers. Their season ended Sunday with a 1-0 loss at home to the Washington Capitals.

Scoring just five goals in six games, fans say the Flyers didn't have the firepower to keep up with a talented Caps squad that had the best record in the league. Still, watching their beloved Orange & Black come up short stings a little.

"I threw my wallet because I was pretty upset, but really couldn't expect much more. I mean, we gave a good effort," said one fan watching the game from Xfinity Live.

"It's a rebuilding year. There was no way were going to get past the first round anyway," said another.

"How they got here, it wasn't honestly a disappointment. They weren't expected to get here at all, coming back through the last few games to get into the playoffs and get the last seed," said Matt from Cherry Hill, who was just happy for the opportunity to watch some playoff hockey.

"We came back from 3-0 to make it a competitive series, and you know, I'm proud of the team and we'll get em next year," said Shayna from Phoenixville, who says the team showed a lot of heart after Ed Snider died.

The Fly guys went down swinging by peppering goalie Braden Holtby with 11 shots in the 3rd period, but couldn't sneak anything past him. Team Captain Claude Giroux only scored once in the series.
