Philadelphia Runners Take Part In Pop-Up Run In Memory Of Prince

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Across the country, fans are remembering Prince and his music. Here in Philadelphia, a few dozen people paid tribute to the legend in a unique way.

Dozens gathered together to run a few miles through Philadelphia, pounding their feet to the rhythm of Prince's music.

"Great day to come out and celebrate some awesome music," said one runner.

The event was organized by Jon Lyons, the founder of the running group Run 215 and a Prince super-fan.

"Prince was always one of those innovative, kind of irreverant but super duper talented artists," Lyons said.

He lead the group, blasting popular Prince tunes from the back of his bike. "We make this thing called the mobile hype unit. It's just kind of like a carriage that I like modded out with-- we put a really expensive speaker on the back and power it with a car battery."

It was a great way to honor a music legend.

"I mean, he's a music icon, and a lot of his songs have endured the test of time, so you have to appreciate that." said one runner.
