Police Investigate Report Of Officer Impersonator In South Jersey

EVESHAM, NJ (CBS) – Police are investigating after someone reported a driver impersonating a police officer in South Jersey.

Authorities say around 12:10 p.m. on April 13, officers responded to investigate a suspicious vehicle complaint.

The reporting person said that while driving on North Maple Avenue an unmarked, gold colored Ford Crown Victoria activated emergency lights and siren.

Police say the caller pulled over and the vehicle pulled up next to him and verbally identified himself as a police officer and stated that the driver had cut him off.

He then drove away from the scene.

The Ford Crown Victoria was reportedly driven by a white male with dark hair and a goatee wearing a navy blue hoody.

Police say they investigated the license plate reported in this incident and it did not match any in the New Jersey state database.
