Maternity And Newborn Care

Keeping mothers and babies safe is the focus of St. Mary Health, a hospital that delivers up to 2,400 infants a year. Dr. Roman Tatarowicz, Medical Director of Obstetrics, says caring for new families in a homey, caring environment goes a long way to enhance the birthing experience. In an era when many facilities are no longer delivering babies, St. Mary is increasing the number of deliveries every year.

Dr. Tatarowicz says the hospital is allocating a lot of resources to caring for young families. A new Labor and Delivery suite is being constructed that will offer families a soothing and safe environment in calm, neutral tones. Recently, a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was opened. It offers patients and their families sleeping rooms, a private lactation room and cutting edge technology to provide critical care for fragile newborns.

St. Mary Health is also collaborating with doctors at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to offer around the clock specialized medical care for at risk babies and children. CHOP neonatal and pediatric specialists are now at St. Mary and ready to help when children are in need of specialized care. This allows families to remain in Bucks County where they live, while receiving the world class pediatric and neonatal medical care they may need.
