Protesters March Down Broad Street

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Opponents of a proposed new football stadium for Temple University's North Philadelphia campus held a march and rally Thursday afternoon.
A coalition of activists representing a variety of causes, including raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, joined students and neighborhood residents in a demonstration organized by the Stadium Stompers group at the bell tower on campus.

"Obviously, Temple has a lot of power in terms of their wealth and how they control city politics. So that is a constant concern. However, we are also working with politicians," said Zoe Buckwalter, one of the organizers.
"We continue to talk with neighborhood residents about their concerns and already as a result of those discussions, we have adopted stringent new guidelines to reduce the impact of parties and negative student behavior," said Temple spokesman Brandon Lausch.
The rally morphed into a march down Broad Street to an area near City Hall where demonstrators demanded a hike in the minimum wage.
